Are you looking for more than just a shared apartment room? Then Ensemble Basel is the right place for you.

Ensemble Basel brings together young adults with support needs and students as well as other young people in training in an inclusive shared apartment.

At Klingentalstrasse 59/61 in Basel, people with and without support needs live together under one roof and shape their everyday lives together. The roommates without support needs accompany and support their shared apartment members in everyday life if needed and, in return, benefit from an attractive rental price.

The rooms

We rent furnished shared apartment rooms in different sizes. The gross rent is between CHF 665.- and CHF 1'143.- per month depending on the room.

Before moving in, all rooms are furnished by our architecture office with a carefully selected basic equipment of high-quality secondhand furniture. Additionally, all residents have a free selection of further high-quality secondhand furniture available so that the room can be individually supplemented or adapted.

The house

Each floor has its own kitchen as well as its own sanitary facilities. Furthermore, the house offers numerous communally used areas:

• large communal kitchen on the ground floor
• shared dining area
• cozy lounge area
• laundry room in the basement
• courtyard with atelier

This creates a lively place where community, exchange, and mutual support are at the center.

Who we are looking for

Students as well as young adults in training between the ages of 18 and 28 will be accepted.

Requirements:

• interest in communal living
• willingness to support roommates with support needs in everyday life
• openness to the concept of "Ensemble Basel"
• signing of an assistance contract

The support is based on the individual needs of the residents and is determined in the Individual Help Plan (IHP).
The accompaniment is planned together and regularly reviewed. In difficult situations, specialists are available for advice.

The following support offers can be used depending on need:

• being part of a community and ensuring the possibility of participation and co-shaping of the living space
• spending leisure time together
• practicing and performing household management together
• cleaning private rooms together
• cooking, eating, and also washing up together
• shopping together, privately and for the community
• celebrating festivals together
